Another order

Etsy is certainly taking off for me, with another custom order. I recently sold this acorn lane autumn quilt and shortly after doing so received a custom order for another one from a lady who missed out on purchasing it.

I have constructed all of the blocks and cut out and fused the appliqué ready for stitching. Last time I made this it was a BOM.

I have used predominantly a fat quarter set that i had in field flowers by blackbird designs, which feature lovely greens and plums, (as well as fabric from my stash).

I have also finished quilting the starry cabins Christmas block swap quilt and blogged about it on the Christmas page but forgot to share it on my own blog, so here it is now.

Having a hoot

I am pleased to report that I have finished my owl quilt for a custom Etsy order, so it's back with my own sewing tasks again

I just love the spot fabric that I found to back this with, it reminds me of a big box of smarties. Yum.

I have also caught up with the quilt experiment blocks
( via quilt club Australia) a face book group that I belong to.

Ohio star
Sunray
And grey goose

So my next plan is to quilt my Christmas swap quilt, make another swoon block and work on my jelly roll hearts some more.

All of this as I anxiously wait for lock one of a new BOM that I am starting in civil war fabrics, which I have not used before, and I have also ordered Lori Holts new book to make her cute row along quilt.
So the UFO pile continues to grow

Ready to quilt

Spotlight had a 40% off sale last week, so I bought batting. I wish I bought more, as I lay these three quilts out and can't see away to get another quilt on this piece.

Looking at the size of the vintage modern BOM quilt, I think quilting that on my domestic is beyond me, so I may tuck it away and send it to the long arm quilter and let them supply the batting at the same time.

Here are two that I can manage, Hooverville, a custom order from Etsy

And starry logs, a swap block quilt from the Christmas swap blocks.
This will make a nice table topper.

Well friends, I better get pinning if I am ever going to get these UFO' s off my plate.

Best laid plans

As you know I planned to get to work finishing off all of my own projects, until........ A custom order came in from Etsy, for..........an owl quilt.

Before I started this however I did finish my project for homespun magazine, I am not allowed to share it, but here is a sneaky peek
Then I set to work tracing, cutting out and sewing owls ( and trees), but I ran out of visofix so did not get them all done.
In between all of this I have done a bit of stitchery for the last block on my girls day out quilt, here is the progress on that.

Where am I. ?

I am still here, its just been an exceptionally busy week or so, and I have not done much of anything.

Certainly nothing to show, on the sewing front.

DH and I celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary on Tuesday, and we agreed not to exchange gifts as we are saving for something BIG.....

The something BIG is a Mediterranean cruise next September, which we booked and paid the deposit for on Friday.  DH could not help himself however and we did exchange cards, and when I opened mine 100 Euros fell out.  Spending money for the BIG holiday. We will be cruising on the Celebrity Equinox from Venice to Barcelona.  Here is a pic of our ship.

On the sewing front I have almost completed my project for Home Spun magazine, quilting this today - so its just the binding and and its all done ready to send.  I have also written up the pattern and emailed that to them already to see if its ok, ( and it is).

I have done all of my block swap obligations and been doing some hand stitchery on my Girls day out quilt. This if for the last block then I can put that all together.  I have also stitched and pinned a Christmas quilt ready to quilt out of blocks exchanged.  So as you can see, a bit on the go but nothing to show.

I have also not had a chance to catch up on any blog reading this week, so will visit all my lovely friends this week.. Until then, happy Sunday everyone, chat soon.
